Below are listed a few of the poems for your reading pleasure.

A Kinda Life

For Malala who was shot in the head and left for dead & all the women and girls in the Gender War

Has life been kind to you?  He said

As her heart stopped and bled

She sighed and shook her head

If I could’ve I would’ve fled

Life sucks for us ducks

What is bad for the goose is good for the gander

Life is angled for the power of the boys’ den

It is hard to be the shoved out hen

If Sallys had equal money

Blokes would lose the power to control the honey

If Janes could have equal learning

Guys would feel their egos burning

For thousands of years they have kept us down

And they have snatched and held the gender crown

Marys have smiled behind a tear and frown

But now us Jennies must turn it all upside-down

Has life been kind to you?  He queried

You look so tired and wearied

No, she stuttered

To see it you must be kind

Most Johns push our struggles from their mind.

When we talk of rape

They say ‘Peel a grape’

When we say that we’ve been battered

They say: To listen would leave me shattered

Man-made Sheila pain

Is silenced for their gain

Has life been kind to you?

SHE said,

I wish I could lie inside your bed

And have your life instead

Not be the prey who is left for dead

Life sucks for us ducks

What is bad for the goose is good for the gander

Life is angled for the power of the boys’ den

It is hard to be the shoved out hen

For thousands of years they have kept us down

And they have snatched and held the gender crown

Marys have smiled behind a tear and frown

But now we Jennies must turn it all upside-down

Has life been kind to you?  He asked

Has life been kind?

Storm over the Firth of Forth

Exquisite nature

Sea boiling

Hurricane winds whipping up the waves and spray

Sun glints down

Rainbow colours explode

(I have never seen such a magnificent rainbow effect in my whole life, and I am a rainbow watcher of many decades.  Always looking for those rainbows - symbols of Hope.)

The birds love-dance the sky

Swoop, spiral, soar –

Up, up, down

And up again

(And as the sea mist clears, I see a gull down below)

Struggling

Against the wind

Hovering

Over frothing waves

Flying pennant behind it

(A luminous green plastic bag – caught around its leg)

Exhausted

Near collapse

Wings dragging through the foam

So tired

The end is near

(I send it my prayer)

Struggle and strive!

Try to survive!

This man-made disaster…

Owed to 50 Shades

Hmmm, sigh, roll, pant

My ‘inner Goddess’ has a rant

Clank, knock, hum, vibrate

The point is ‘well made’

And its loving is great

Consumer titillation

Hedonistic wank

As I fantasize of my ghost-lover

I like to think he works in a bank

I like him with the EQ

Of a four- by-four plank

Much better than the real thing in frigid UK

Where there’s very little hope for a roll in the hay

Women changed from flapper

To secret home fapper

With aching wrist

From the Anne Summers list…

Does ‘taming the beast’ even exist?

Questions from a Child

(An acrostic on Child Abuse)

Can my mommy love me if she lets him do this to me?

How have I made them angry and caused this punishment for myself?

I must have done something wrong.

Look at what he's doing to me.  Listen to my cries for help.

Did I do something terrible to God so that he has turned his back on me?

Am I to blame for what is happening?

Bruises all over - but not as bruised as my heart...

Unclean.  Un-loved.  Unlovable.

Sex toy. I wish I was a boy so I wouldn't be his sex toy.

Every day is pain.

A View on Nature

What does a view do for you?

It refreshes the mind –

Expands it wide –

It feeds the soul –

And soothes the sad heart…

When I look up at cobalt skies, or across the wide dancing sea,

I feel the healing rushing through me –

When I breathe the forest air,

And absorb the soft oak leaves through my eyes and hair,

I discover parts of me,

That I didn’t know were there…

Why is there a nature/nurture debate?

It is nature that nurtures

The joy is innate

Come try it and feel it –

Before it’s too late
