|The Butterfly Haven Children's Fund educates on Violence and Abuse Prevention.
The vision continues in the UK with the new Butterfly Haven Children's Fund!
Donations and proceeds from from Denise's books will go to its projects which raise awareness and educate on abuse and its devastating effects on society - as well as helping survivors of abuse.
The photo to the right is of Butterfly Haven Castle Centre, Cape Town, South Africa. This centre hosted fundraising projects and was the base for the South African branch of Kids Can Free the Children. This Kids Can Chapter was initiated and mentored by Denise Stephani for seven years. The international network was started by Craig and Marc Kielburger in Canada, originally to help free child slaves. It has moved on to be an active international youth empowerment and citizenship network, and has been nominated three times for the Nobel Peace Prize. It has been part of Oprah's Angel Network and mentored by Bishop Desmond Tutu, Richard Gere, Kuki Gallmann and many more.
Butterfly Haven Enchanted Castle Play Park (photo to right) and projects were enjoyed by many children. However, Butterfly Haven Centre was closed in 2007 due to the extreme levels of violent crime and lack of support. Despite this, the vision continues in the UK with the new Butterfly Haven Children's Fund. Proceeds from Denise's books will go to its projects which raise awareness and educate on abuse and its devastating effects on society - as well as helping survivors of abuse.
CURRENT FUNDING DRIVE: 'Letters to Mandela' book and film project. Donations very welcome here.
